2025-2026
This year, our P4C class are taking responsibility for promoting Rights in our school. We have decided to call ourselves the Rights Respecting Rangers. We started our sessions off by completing a questionnaire which helped us decide which rights to focus on. Our first focus for Term 1 was under the umbrella of Development linking to Article 29: I have the right to an education which develops my personality, talents and abilities.
We explored the Article, using the poster below for support, and agreed that we would encourage people in our school to be kind and respectful. Our first job was to create posters. P4C worked very hard on these, displaying them around the school and sharing them at Assembly.
For Term 2, our focus was under the Protection umbrella which links to Article 19: I have the right to be protected from being hurt or badly treated. We had a focus on Anti-Bullying, in line with Anti-Bullying Week, and on Monday 11th November, we took part in Odd Socks Day which was an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves, to celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!
We also handed out a Kindness Survey to each class to collate and monitor how our pupils were being kind to one another in school. This survey will help support and promote Anti-Bullying.
During session 2023-2024, our RRS group worked hard to create our Playground and Canteen Charter.
They also worked on a RRS video which explains how we respect and promote rights in our school. Please see links below.
